Workshops and More
Fee-Based Workshops for Schools and CBOs:
Parent/Child Team Classes
Parent-child team workshops are designed to strengthen the bond between parents and their children through collaborative artistic activities in various media, including photography, ceramics or painting.
Thematic Projects: Literacy Through the Arts Environmental Stewardship
Fine Arts workshops can be designed to enhance students' literacy by engaging students in artistic projects that develop their language, reading, and writing skills. These team-taught workshops introduce students to new concepts, develop academic skills and inspire creative thinking while learning about our natural environment.
Professional Development
These workshops are open to K-12 school teachers from all disciplines. BRAC's teaching artists help to design curriculum-emphasizing, hands-on art projects that teachers can bring to their classrooms. All of our teachers are certified with Fine Arts degrees and have years of expertise in their fields.
Leadership Development/ Promoting
Respect for Multicultural Diversity
BRAC's workshops in the Fine Arts enhance youths' educational process by enabling creative expression, improving their motivation about their futures and helping them achieve academic improvement. BRAC creates an atmosphere that provides artistic enrichment, strengthens group dynamics and cultivates understanding of cultural identities and histories.
Workshops can be purchased one at a time, or in a series of 3, 6, 9 and 12 classes that can either be spread out over an academic year or concentrated in a consecutive series. Please call for more information.
Saturday Museum Field Trips (Ages 13-21):
New York has some of the most famous museums in the world! Twice a month, we will visit the exciting art capital of the United States to experience the history of art, to enhance our knowledge base, or to just enjoy the beauty of creation!
Environmental Programming:
Our students will be encouraged to participate in activities that maintain and celebrate our natural environment, such as: canoeing on the river, nature walks, environmental experiments and workshops, trips to the Bronx Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, Wave Hill and other environmental partners.
