Bronx, NY.... In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Bronx
River Art Center presents Mujeres Latinas, an all-female musical
ensemble originating from various Latin-American countries and residing
in various parts of New York City. The group is set to take stage
at the beautiful Drew Gardens, overlooking the Bronx River, for
a festive outdoor concert intended for all ages, families and music
lovers. Mujeres Latinas will perform original songs that web through
Latin Jazz, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Latin Rock and Reegeton to
express the diverse backgrounds and interests of this talented ensemble.
The group’s
mission is to bring together people from around the world to congregate
and exchange ideas in order to encourage creativity and community.
Mujeres Latinas is led by Adela Dalto, an accomplished Latin Jazz
singer and songwriter who has steadily built a successful solo career
as well as performed with Mario Bauza, Mauricio Smith, Jerry Gonzalez,
and Lee Konitz, to name a few. The remaining members of Mujeres
Latinas have performed independently with such acts as Mario Rivera’s
Merengue-Jazz, Annette Aguilar and Stringbeans, and Jimmy Bosch.
