Spring 2012 Teen Project Studio (TPS) will focus on projects that use mobile technology to create public art pieces that are designed to engage the West Farms community. Students will create graphic novels inspired by the lives and stories of heroic community members. They will develop monuments to these people that can then be accessed by the public through QR codes. Students will have access to BRAC’s Media Lab and use ipads to conduct public tours.

TPS is a unique art program for teens taught by professional artists who work in a variety of media. Students develop skills in traditional and new art forms such as drawing, illustration, sculpture, digital photography and Photoshop©. Students will also gain leadership experience to enhance college applications. Each class focuses on a specific real-world project to engage students in the community while learning new media.

Students who complete one semester of Teen Project Studio qualify to be paid interns in the summer. These students, known as Teen Ambassadors, will mentor new students into the TPS program.
