Simone Development Companies Hosts Butterfly Migration Pop-Up Event

By CityBiz | web link

Simone Development Companies had an incredible turnout at their first “We Are All Connected – Monarch Migration” pop-up event held recently at the Hutchinson Metro Center in the Bronx, home to a butterfly habitat that is popular among tenants of the 42-acre mixed-use medical, office, retail and educational campus in the Morris Park section of the borough. Hosted by Bronx River Art Center’s Cultural Immigration Initiative and artist Michele Brody, these events provide a unique opportunity to discover the vital role of monarch butterflies in our ecosystem and their remarkable annual journey to Mexico and back. Adding a creative twist, artist Ruth Marshall collaborated with the Northeast Bronx Senior Center to produce stunning crocheted artwork, emphasizing the interconnection of native species and highlighting this crucial conservation effort. This initiative is part of a larger project launched in 2023 by the Bronx Council on the Arts and The New York Public Library.
