Terttu Uibopuu

BRAC Teaching Artist, Photography, 2014

Terttu Uibopuu (b.1984) is from Estonia and moved to the United States in 2002. She currently works and lives in New York City. A graduate of Yale University School of Art with an MFA Photography, Terttu currently teaches photography at Wesleyan University and International Center of Photography.

Why I Teach: “I love encouraging students to be honest with themselves and interested in the world around them as it’s the best way to make art. Therefore I find photography and its ability to transform what’s in front of a lens into another reality to be the perfect medium that enables curiosity and artistic self-expression. And most importantly I love seeing my students have fun with it!”
