Rentals

The Bronx River Art Center offers three different spaces within our building for public rental.


COMMUNITY ROOM/REHEARSAL STUDIO

BRAC’s Community Room is a 1,000 sq. ft. flexible studio located on the second floor, accessible by elevator and stairs. A bright, open second-floor studio filled with natural light and views of the neighborhood.

Designed for rehearsal, creative development, and community use, the space features natural light, open floor space, and views of the Bronx River.

This is a working space for rehearsals, classes, workshops, and creative development. It’s flexible, simple, and designed for movement. Capacity up to 30 people.

Features

The space includes everything needed for rehearsal, meeting, teaching, and small group use:

  • Open floor plan with natural light
  • Two (2) ballet barres
  • Rolling dance mirror
  • Four (4) rehearsal cubes (modular seating / staging pieces)
  • Tweleve (12) Yoga mats available
  • Four (4) six-foot folding tables
  • Thirty (30) folding chairs
  • Bluetooth speaker upon request
  • Projector available upon request

The room can be easily reconfigured depending on the needs of your work.

Available Hours

  • Monday through Friday: 10:30AM - 2:30PM and 6:30PM - 10PM
  • Saturdays: 10:30AM - 6PM
  • Sundays 12 - 5PM

Rates

  • $10/hour subsidized rehearsal rate for dance, theater, and performance-based creative work. This rate is intended to support artists developing work in the Bronx.
  • Non-rehearsal uses (workshops, classes, events, and other gatherings) require a separate rate.

EVENT SPACE

We have a beautiful ground-floor event space of approximately 1,200 sq. ft.This room can hold anything from quiet celebrations, lively performances, workshops and community gatherings. In warmer months, it opens onto a courtyard overlooking the Bronx River.

The connecting pantry has a sink, refrigerator, working counter space, and service window opening into the event space. It is designed for serving and light prep only (no on-site cooking).

Capacity for the space is 120 people for standing room only events, 90 people for seated auditorium-style events, and 70 people for meals or events around tables.

The room is equipped with the essentials needed to support a wide range of events:

  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • AV system with handheld mic
  • Projector
  • TV screen

Important Notes

A few things to help planning go smoothly:

  • All rentals require BRAC staffing support (included or billed, depending on event)
  • Alcohol service requires a NYC one-day liquor license provided by the renter.
  • No cooking on-site (catering welcome; light prep only)
  • Courtyard access is seasonal and weather-dependent.
  • Full setup, logistics, and pricing are determined after inquiry.

CONFERENCE ROOM

Our Meeting Room is a small, quiet space designed for focus, conversation, and planning.

It’s located on the second floor and offers a comfortable setting for groups who need a simple, private room to meet, present, or work together. This is a straightforward, no-frills space—made for getting things done without distraction. Capacity 8–10 people.

Features

The room includes basic tools for meetings, presentations, and small group work:

  • Wall-mounted TV (for presentations, webinars, and streaming)
  • Large wall-mounted whiteboard
  • Coffee and tea station
  • Small refrigerator

The space is set up to support both in-person and hybrid/remote meetings.

Available Hours

  • Monday through Friday: 10:30AM - 9:30PM
  • Saturdays: 10:30AM - 6PM
  • Sundays: 12 - 5PM

Rates

Meeting Room rentals are available at standard hourly rates based on use type.

DIRECTIONS TO CENTER:  By Train: Take #2 or #5 to West Farms Square/East Tremont. Walk one block east to Bronx Street. By Bus: Take #'s B9, 21, 36, 40, 42, or Q44 to East Tremont and Boston Road. By Car: Take Bruckner Expressway to Sheridan Expressway, and exit at East Tremont Ave. Turn left at the traffic light one block down onto East Tremont. Turn left after one block onto Bronx St. (Cross Bronx Expressway) towards Rosedale Ave, then exit. Turn left onto Rosedale Ave, then take a left onto Tremont Ave. Drive four blocks to West Farms Square.
