Portfolio Prep Workshops

Applying for arts high schools and colleges is a competitive process, often involving essays, an arts exam, and a portfolio review. The portfolio - containing examples of the artist's best work in a variety of media - is arguably the most important part of the application. Schools and admissions officers typically begin to review applicants' portfolios in the fall or winter. Students applying for art school admission can get a jump on this process by participating in BRAC's Portfolio Preparation Workshops.

The fee for these special workshops is $15, payable online or upon arrival at the workshop. RSVPs are recommended, as space is limited: call (718) 589-5819 x15, email classes@bronxriverart.org, or click here to register online.

Our instructors will share insights on the elements of an outstanding portfolio, as well as offer personalized suggestions on how to strengthen and improve existing bodies of work. Students are encouraged to bring their portfolios or examples of artwork. Students will also receive packets of information about local art schools and the application process.

There are currently no workshops being offered. Please check back soon.
