Join Bronx River Art Center for a vibrant Earth Day celebration honoring art, community, and environmental stewardship. This special Open House includes the unveiling of our newly renovated Community Room—a dynamic space dedicated to artistic practice, learning, and gathering in the Bronx.

- 12:30 - 1:30pm: Son de Citilore" is a community-based group committed to sharing Son Jarocho, the traditional music of southern Veracruz, Mexico, along with its rich cultural heritage.
- 1:30 - 4:00pm: Disco Curandera
- Artist Talk in our Gallery
- 5:00 - 7:00pm: An artist talk for our current exhibition, "Chronicles of Grace: Exploring the Aging Body". Learn more about the artists’ processes and how they explore themes of aging in their work. The conversation will be moderated by Deanna Liderman, with translation assistance provided by Ruddy Mejia.

- The Bronx River Alliance serves as a coordinated voice for the river and works in harmonious partnership to protect, improve and restore the Bronx River corridor so that it can be a healthy ecological, recreational, educational and economic resource for the communities through which the river flows.
- Bronx River Community Garden
- Bronx River Community Garden is one of over 500 GreenThumb gardens open to the public, proudly celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Located in the West Farms neighborhood, the garden is a vibrant, community-led space dedicated to stewarding the land and fostering connection. Its membership spans generations, bringing together people of diverse backgrounds who share a passion for growing and giving back. This year, they are proud to host “Wellness in West Farms”, a special yoga and community health conversation workshop series sponsored by Community Board 6.
- Drew Gardens
- Drew Gardens is a community garden established in 1994 that was once a trash-strewn industrial landfill. Today, thanks to community efforts, it is a flourishing space with a butterfly garden, vegetable plots, and a farmers market.
- Literacy Academy Collective
- Literacy Academy Collective (LAC) believes access to literacy is the most pressing Civil Rights issue in New York City. Their mission is to build and support a network of NYCPS schools to allow struggling readers to achieve academic success by bringing culturally relevant, structured literacy to students at the intersection of race, poverty, and disability.
